Suck on this

It’s 120 Tuesdays today, which sucks big time. I wanted to have a go at painting this lollipop. It looked deceptively simple so I should have known the risk of stuffing it up was high. I’m still learning about the basics of gouache and I really wasn’t sure how I’d go making a matte, opaque medium look shiny and semi-translucent. There is nowhere to hide in this painting - and yes, I see glaring errors in perspective but I’m also just proud that it looks like a lollipop with a hint of shine :)
